A special thank you to John Gordon and Brett Jenkin for their help with the pack up and Roger and Lee Brine for the hay bales and fodder truck. We thank Corey Emery for doing a great job with the lighting.
QUIZ NIGHT: Congratulations to the combined Special Events and Fundraising Committees for their outstanding effort in organising and running a fun -filled quiz night that raised $2,300. Thankyou to all parents, including past parents and students who attended on the night.

The range of tremendous prizes, Quiz Master Rex Brown and his team and the ‘olden style’ dress of some of our parents and staff (some of whom were only just recognisable) created a great social atmosphere when the school community came together to celebrate another Centenary event.

There were many helpers and supporters who moved furniture and set up the YMCA hall on the day, and we thank those people, but special thanks goes to Karen Patrick and her hard working team for planning and organising the event, collecting prizes from an incredible range of businesses, over many weeks, and then sorting and wrapping for all of the week leading up to Quiz Night. That group was - Karen Patrick, Debbie and David Solly, Joan Strother, Dianne Gordon, Sandie Sherriff, Cathy Andrew, Sandy Hutchings, Lorraine Latus, Debbie Excell, Ellen Miller, Marianne MacLaughlan, Anne Jenkin and Pat Hartwright, Doug MacLean and Di Neill.

BRIDAL EXTRAVAGANZA: Last Friday night over one hundred people were treated to an excellent display of bridal wear and clothing down through the decades.

The night provided a great evening of entertainment and was another very successful Centenary year event. We would especially like to recognise the work of Jan Pedersen, Lee Brine and Sandie Sherriff and share their report on the evening.

"Congratulations to all the helpers behind the scenes from ushers, to ticket sellers and models. To the generous people who donated their time, gifts and various other items to help make the night special. To Dorothy Michelon who was left in charge of the dressing room and Marlene Clothier (Mildred) for her sewing expertise. Also a big thank you to those dapper looking grooms and to all the children in Unit 5 for the beautiful decorations. Thank you too to the teachers in Unit 5 - Ellen Miller, Jacqui Brettig and Pam Sims.

A fun night was had by all and feedback from the night was very positive. On parade were several styles of costumes and wedding dresses dating back to the turn of the century. Kendall Brettig did a superb job as M.C. Thank you to all the people that entrusted us with their clothes and memorabilia. Each member of our working team wore clothes from past decades adding to the atmosphere of the evening. And to all those thanked on the night, thanks again!"

OUR SENSATIONAL CENTENARY FROLIC:  If we had to choose an occasion to symbolise what a great school we have, then the evening of Saturday 22 August 1998 would be have to be one of the first on the list. The Centenary Frolic was a wonderful team effort. It’s hard to imagine any other place doing it better! The audience of over 900 children, staff, parents, grandparents, family and friends were treated to a night of history and fun, through music, dance and re-enactments. To see hundreds of pre- school to year 7 students perform was fantastic. The performances of parents and staff added another magical dimension to a thoroughly enjoyable night.

Mounting such an enormous production requires a tremendous amount of work, commitment and cooperation. Congratulations to all students involved. Many of our students gave up hours of their lunchtimes and after school to develop their performances, create props and sets and develop scripts and backstage routines. Congratulations to all staff - not just those who performed, but all who were involved in many rehearsals as well as many interruptions to class programs.

Congratulations to all parents participating in the performances, and behind the scenes, who gave generously of their own time to make sure this would be a special night.

The night would not have happened without the energy and talents of a tremendous core of people.

Deb Excell conceived and coordinated the whole show. Her skills and abilities were fantastic. Deb was magnificently supported by her team:

Marlene Clothier - costumes, Kylie and Pru Valentine - sets, Deb Solly - everything no one else could do, Anne Jenkins (& helpers) - supper, Barb Williams - band and choir, Penny Goldsworthy (&OSHC) - props, Judy Williams - typing.
