Every year, Book Week is a special celebration in our school. Like other years, 1999 was no exception, and many activities were organized in the Resource Centre and in the classrooms. The theme for the week was "Weave the Book Web." Throughout the school, this theme was explored across many areas of the curriculum.

At the end of Book Week, Year 6 children from Mrs. Bath's class presented a special item at assembly to announce the winners in the Children's Book Council of Australia, "Book of the Year" awards.

Hosts for the presentations were Meagan Langbrandner and Brad Middleton.

They began by introducing the nominations for "The Younger Children's Book of the Year Award."

Other members of the class  then introduced each book by becoming some of the principal characters from that book.
