Each person in the team completed
between 10 and 15 laps of the course |
|
The car was very reliable. We only
had one small problem with the steering. |
|
When we got tired we could go and
have a sleep in Mr. Wilson's truck. |
|
The way we kept warm overnight was
with the jet fire heater. |
|
On the weekend we never got hungry,
as there was a lot of food at the campsite. |

Our car : "The Valley Viper" |
|
On September 20th and 21st, a group of Year 6 and 7 students took
part in the annual Australia
International Pedal Prix at Sturt Reserve, Murray Bridge.
The race
weekend is the culmination of many months of preparation by the student team and the hard
working parent group that supports them. Leading up to the event the car needs to be
prepared, students need to undergo fitness work, money needs to be raised and everyone
enjoys lots of fun (and a few headaches!). |

The 1999 Happy Valley Pedal Prix Team |
|
The school has been competing in the Pedal Prix for a few years
now, and each year the children and parents gain a great deal of satisfaction from the
event. The children learn so much about being a member of a team and cooperating with
other team-mates. |

The team is introduced to the school at an assembly. Mr. Tattersall presented
certificates of achievement to all members of the team. |
|
The students would like to thank all
coaches, teachers, sponsors and parents for their great support and encouragement during
the year.
