Brian Marshall
Principal 1996-2002

Brian has been Principal of Happy Valley Primary School for 7 years. After being appointed to the position in 1996, Brian's energy, enthusiasm and vision for the school soon had an impact on staff, students and the community.

Students were at the centre of Brian's focus and he became known to students as a friendly, kind and supportive Principal. He involved them in decision making and projects around the school, he consulted them and made sure they had a high profile in school activities. Student learning and happiness were his focus.

The community was heavily involved in the school and Brian welcomed them and

encouraged them to be closely involved in their children's learning, and to take ownership of many school projects and activities.

Staff enjoyed Brian's positive manner, his vision for new activities in the school, his sense of fun and his enthusiasm for celebrating almost everything!

Brian will take up the position of Principal at Woodend Primary School at the beginning of the 2003 school year.
