One of the most enjoyable school events is undoubtedly the Christmas Family evening. This year the event was held on the school oval on Monday 9th December. Once again, a very large crowd attended to celebrate both the festive season and the end of another successful school year.

As twilight approached, hundreds of students, teachers, parents, ex-students and family members gathered on the oval for a night of fun and entertainment. The evening commenced with a barbeque conducted by the Pedal Prix group. Throughout the evening, tea and coffee was provided by the Canteen Committee.

One of the highlights of our school's Christmas Night is the performance of the Junior Primary children. This year, Mrs. Loveday's class performed "Clem, the Clumsy Camel."

The Senior Choir performed to a very appreciative audience. The Christmas Night is a final opportunity for many choir members to perform and display their exceptional skills. The choir has had a particularly successful year, culminating in their performance in the Festival of Music earlier in the year.

Other highlights of the night consisted of a variety of skits, items and music performed by an eager group of students, parents and staff members. This always provides a lot of fun (and sometimes embarrassment!) for everyone involved. The photographs below show a sample of some of the performances and antics on display this year.

Families were encouraged to bring along a donation of a can or packet of food to put into food hampers.  These were then distributed to needy families in the community by the local churches and other community groups.

Once again, the evening finished with a spectacular display of fireworks sponsored by our student body, The Kookaburra Council.  Everyone present would like to thank Kookaburra Council for once again supporting this very popular and exciting finale to our Family Christmas Evening.
