The beautiful beach at Port Noarlunga: Venue for Year 6/7 Aquatics

Swimming has always remained an important part of Happy Valley School's Health and Physical Education programme. Our students live in a country in which the climate is ideal for outdoor recreational activities, particularly activities and sports associated with water.  And Australians love the water !

Our students are therefore involved in swimming or aquatics at every year level throughout the school. As the children pass through each year level, they are exposed to a wide variety of swimming activities, usually during Term 1.  The following venues have been used in the past.

  Year Level

           Venue

Reception - Year 2 Noarlunga Swimming Centre
Year 3 - Year 5 Marion Swimming Centre
Year 6 - Year 7 Pt. Noarlunga Aquatics Centre

The emphasis at each venue varies according to the age of the children. The overall aim of the programme is to develop strong, confident swimmers who are able to safely enjoy the fun and recreational water activities that are possible in our unique Australian climate.

When the children reach Year 6 and 7, they are exposed to some fantastic recreational activities at The Port Noarlunga Aquatics Centre. The photographs below depict some of these activities.
